Wind power generators are great for the environment in many
helpful ways. They create clean and reusable energy that saves
the environment from damage caused by power plants. Generator
powered wind is created by setting a small wind turbine on
towers, usually around 100 feet high, to convert kinetic energy
into wind into mechanical energy and, finally, into
electricity. Portable wind generators are most often used when
camping or in construction sites. These are also used when
needing only minimal amounts of energy.
In essence, there are two main types of generated powered
wind, the horizontal-axis and the vertical-axis. The
horizontal-axis is easily the most common type used. The
electrical generator is set at the top of the tower and is
pointed into the wind. Thick blades are needed so as to keep
the blades from being destroyed by large amounts of wind. The
vertical-axis does not need to be pointed into the wind because
the main rotor shaft is arranged vertically. They can be set
closer to the ground and are in no need of a tower. These
cannot handle the same amounts of wind as the horizontal-axis
and are most often used in areas of smaller wind speed.
The amount of output of energy depends upon the amount of
wind that specific day, so it varies on a daily basis. The
great thing about generator powered wind is that it's purely
wind, there is no pollution and you don't need to constantly be
buying fuel and paying utility bills. Many electrical
facilities and farms have wind powered generators and set them
in areas of high wind, so as to garner the most energy from
that specific place. Wind powered generators can be used in
many places, including remote camping sites and vacation homes.
Though wind powered generators may cost a large amount of
money, it is very likely that you can save a few hundred
dollars on electricity per month if using one.
The smallest generator powered wind is the 50-watt. Prices
usually run between $300 and $400. One of the largest wind
powered generators is the 10-kw. These tend to cost around
$40,000 to $50,000. Depending on the wind, these can produce
800 to 2,000 KWh per month. Though costs for these are very
high, tax breaks are available to those using generator powered
wind.
There are many advantages to using generator powered wind,
one of them being that you will never have to pay for
electricity again. The wind is renewable, so, unlike coal and
oil, it will never run out. There are many other great reasons
that generator powered wind is better to use, but one of the
biggest advantages is that you can help save the environment
and make it cleaner for you and your children to live in. By
buying a wind powered generator, no longer will there be any
reason that fuel and other gases should pollute the air. The
use of generator powered wind is of vital importance to the
environment that we live in and will clean the air for
generations to come.
